ABOUT DR. CHARLES JHESSIM

Dr. Charles Jhessim is the first of three children of his parents and originally from the Volta Region, Ghana. He went to Mawuli Senior High School in Ho and completed with distinction in the year 2000. He was then selected among the few high school graduates of the year 2000 to join the 1999 graduates into the Biological Sciences program at the University of Ghana, Legon in the year 2001 with an aspiration to read Medicine. He however changed his course of study to Physiotherapy when it was then newly introduced into the College of Health Sciences of the University of Ghana as he preferred to help people with their health without the use of drugs or surgery. He completed his BSc. Physiotherapy program in 2006 with distinction and top of his class. He then did his internship at the Volta Regional Hospital and then later on worked at the 37 Military Hospital as a Physiotherapist for two years.With the desire to further improve people’s health status especially by helping them get healthy and stay healthy with more preventive and natural approach, Charles decided to go to Chiropractic school. He was awarded a full international students tuition scholarship by Sherman College of Chiropractic in South Carolina, and also by the help of Dr. Bryan Cox and The Spinal Clinic, Dr. Chadwick Hawk, and Mr. & Mrs. Foster Afenyo, was able to start his studies in 2010. While at Sherman College of Chiropractic, he also won the Krill Oil scholarship competition on the topic: Lifestyle to promote a healthy heart and holistic well being (Published Feb. 2013). He also served as an Anatomy lab assistant and tutor, an X-ray Intern with a certificate of proficiency in Chiropractic Radiology, and one of the health clinic interns to work with the athletes of the Spartanburg Methodist College. Charles graduated from Sherman College in 2013 with Summa Cum Laude and awarded the highest Milton W. Garfunkel Award, and other awards including Academic Achievement Award and Service Distinction Award.After completing his doctorate degree in Chiropractic, Charles came back to Ghana to work with the Spinal Clinic.
